Company Profile

Welcome to Alderney Angling.

The team at Alderney Angling is here to give you advise about your planned trip to Alderney or indeed advice regards any fishing tackle equipment you may wish to purchase. We have extensive knowledge in sea fishing so can advise in many aspects of angling.

Mark Harding not much older than his angling years!

Fieona Cosheril takes care of the B&B and has a surprising knowledge on our products we offer. Fie catches more than us too!

Dave Young boat and shore fishes and has done since teen years. He joined the business in September 2010 and when he isn't fishing is responsible for our retail side of the business.

To navigate the site use the tabs to work your way around on the left hand side pressing UP to return to previous pages.

First and foremost Alderney is a wonderful place to fish for its variety of species, the specimen fish that are achievable and its vast quantities fish that can appear en masse and that statement applies to our boat and shore fishing. Do feel free to take advantage of our knowledge by getting in touch by phone or by email at the bottom of the page. To view a history of angling look in our Latest Reports  pages and there you will see a whole diary of past catches enabling you to choose a month that suits your style of angling.

Alderney is VAT free so you will save a small fortune on any purchases you make here. Check out our Mail Order pages for our prices. Enormous savings are to be made when you visit or you can of course purchase from us by phone or email and we will post out your order. Everything under £18 is VAT free to the UK. Even with the VAT added on though many of our products are competitively priced as with our buying power we can pass on our discounts. If you order anything over £18 we can prepay the VAT here to ensure a smooth transition through customs. We believe in the personal touch so we don't have a basket system so please call or email us so we can quote for postage.

To get to Alderney the best way is to fly. Book with Aurigny on a direct flight from Southampton to Alderney or if it is better for you then from a regional airport in the UK to Guernsey. You can then take the short hop across the water from there to Alderney. The other way which is popular with boat anglers is to come across the English Channel with any of these Charter Boats from the south coast ports of the UK. You can fish the wrecks on the English Channel and meander your way to Alderney before you enjoy the varied fishing on offer here. Another way whereby you can bring everything and the kitchen sink is to come on our supply ship from Poole in Dorset. You can ship the car over as well. Cheaper than flying and no limit on excess baggage, take a look at Alderney Shipping and ring Sam on 01481 824484 for a quote and more details. Its not a cruise ship but a sure fun way to arrive. If you are in Europe there is a new route being launched in April 2011, more details will follow here when we have them. You can make the journey by passenger boat from either Dielette  or Cherbourg on the Lady Maris or Smuggler with our local fishing expert Colin Dukes, details further down.

Alderney Angling can offer B&B and you will be well looked after by Fieona with comfortable accommodation, a hearty breakfast and free use of our courtesy vehicle. From the Autumn/Winter of 2011 Fieona is offering catch and eat as opposed to catch and cook, phone for more details. For more accommodation Alderney can offer Hotels, Self Catering and many guesthouses take a look at what is on offer here. Whilst you are on that site take a look at the fantastic gallery page our marketing manager Joanna Parmentier has put together, it really does show Alderney off in all its glory.

Alderney has a local charter boat available for hire too. Colin Dukes has a fearsome reputation as being one of the top skippers in the English Channel in the last 30 years. He has unrivalled knowledge of the local waters and the fish it holds. Colin is also sponsored by fishing tackle giant Daiwa so you will have top quality rods and reels to use free of charge. Ring Colin and see what dates he has free, more details are here.

If you don't want the hassle of transporting rods, reels and rod stands then we have it for hire here. We use top quality brands for the Beach, Plugging and Mullet rods/reels.

When you get here getting around the island is simplicity in itself. Hire a bike or hire a car. Sometimes just as easy to stay in touch with the local taxi firm. Whatever you choose you'll be able to make your arrangements here. For car hire we recommend Braye Car Hire on 01481 823881.
