This one is a grueller, I am currently training for it and am finding out its not flat. However it will be good to be part of and of course very scenic. October 8th-10th Champion of Champions NFSA Wessex Final. These prestigious event has been made possible through generous sponsorship of the tourist board, local airlines and guesthouses. All you need to do to get here is to qualify through local events, details of which have appeared in the Sea Angling News and will be appearing in forthcoming issues of National Publications. Alderney Angling and Sports have donated two fabulous fishing reels. In the Shore event the captor of the Best Specimen fish will receive an ABU 6500 Mag Elite, and in the boat section the same will apply but the winner will receive an ABU 7000 HSN. October 16th-23rd 19th Annual Angling Festival. An event I have fished for the last two years. Loads of prizes and money to be won but better than that for a whole week you sample some fabulous fishing amongst some friendly competition and banter. From my point of view as it is my first year in business here can you get your bait orders, and if need be tackle orders (there are festival offers in the shop to look out for but at this stage I'd like to make you aware of the deal on leads to save you carrying them across), in asap. There is a wide range of frozen bait and live ragworm. The more of you that order the easier it is for me to get the stuff across and to get quantities accurate for your enjoyment and for my stock situation. For those of you that wish to take part it is a week long competition fishing from Saturday to Saturday whereby 6 categories are decided by the top 5 fish in each section. Cash prizes are awarded in these sections, there are also other prizes to be won for best UK angler, best CI angler, best lady plus teams and pairs. 30 pound is all the entry costs. Up to 180 anglers regularly participate so cash payouts are quite high and there is banter a plenty!
